Presbytery Resource Day, April 14

Join Presbyterians from PNNE, Boston, and Southern New England in a day of leadership training and resourcing on Saturday, April 14!

Ruling elders and congregational leaders are invited to join the Rev. Eric Markman and Ruling Elder Suresh Kumar from the Hartford Street Presbyterian Church for leadership training. The training will focus on the spiritual leadership of the elders of the church, as well as helping elders think about the things that are blocking them from mission and ministry.

Teaching elders and anyone involved in planning worship are invited to join the Rev. Dr. David Gambrell, Associate in the Office of Theology, Worship and Formation for the PC(USA) and editor of the newly revised Book of Common Worship. David is also a songwriter and several of his works are included in Glory to God. He will introduce pastors and worship leaders to the new Book of Common Worship, and then facilitate brainstorming around worship planning and lectionary preparation for the coming church season.

We will gather at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, 4 Church Rd, Bedford, NH, and begin at 9:30 am with worship and finish at 3:30 pm after closing worship. Morning refreshments and lunch will be served; the cost is $20 per person.

Leadership Training for the Next Generation of Church

“Where there is no vision, the people perish” Proverbs 29:18 KJV

Though the translation may not be as accurate to the Hebrew as later translations, what it tells us is true – a church with a no vision will go nowhere.  However, one vision does not fit all churches.  How do you find vision for your church?  This training strives to help the session understand itself in a new role as the visionaries for the congregation.  Of course it is not our vision that we seek, but God’s vision.  Come and join this training and take home some tools to help your session seek the movement of the Holy Spirit and live as the body of Christ on earth.

If your church has a Mission Statement please bring it with you.
